weaving on little looms

Rest of the Tail

Lion finished

Lion was inspired by Rufus Fubar aka Fluppy, knitted by KnottyGirlLa of JenLa blog, who was in turn inspired by Dog in the book:

Knit a square & make a toy: simple toys to make from knitted squares
by Norma Campbell
Published in 1999 by Cole’s Home Library Craftbooks
ISBN 1-56426-256-1

It’s out of print, but many libraries have a copy. If yours doesn’t, request it through interlibrary loan! It’s chock full of great toy patterns that we can adapt to little looms.

The facts:
Jo Sharp DK wool, gold and beige
4 4×6 rectangles in Fancy Weave, two with fringe at both ends for the head, two for the body
4 4×4 squares in Fancy Weave, folded for legs
1 2×4 square in plain weave, with fringe at one end, for tail
vintage button eyes
embroidery floss details
stiff nylon thread for whiskers
wool stuffing
